SNMP是一种广泛使用的协议，管理网络上远程和本地的启用SNMP的设备，包括服务器、工作站、路由器、交换机等设备的管理。
SNMP管理​​信息库（SNMP-Management Information Base）MIB是采用ASN.1描述的，另外，SNMP消息也是采用ASN.1描述的。
TTplugin- SNMP支持翻译ASN.1数据结构到TTCN-3，并且可以将SNMP MIBs选出的场景生成完整的测试例，可以作为测试架构开发基于TTCN-3的针对SNMP设备的测试。
